Holly and Laurin’s story

Holly and Laurin attend the same church and participate in the same growth group. As a group, they have chosen to support Embrace Grace, a Christian organization that provides care and support for single mothers and pregnant women who have chosen to keep their babies.

When visiting Madagascar on a Mission/Vision trip with Multiplication Network, Holly learned about Anna’s Circle. After returning home, she shared Anna’s Circle with Laurin, and the two immediately agreed to go through Anna’s Circle Training together. They were eager to learn how to better share the love of Jesus with others.

When they got to the session about hosting a Discovery Bible Study, Holly and Laurin started talking about who to invite, where and when to hold it, and working through all the details. Both were feeling a bit overwhelmed until their next Anna’s Circle session. As they talked it over with the other women, they had the inspiration to contact Kyla, the local leader of Embrace Grace.

The women being supported by Embrace Grace had been exposed to the Gospel and several had recently decided to follow Jesus. Still others were open to learning about Jesus and seeking answers. When Holly and Laurin spoke with Kyla about hosting a Discovery Bible Study with the women at Embrace Grace, they all knew it was a win/win. Kyla welcomed the additional involvement by Holly and Laurin, and it was decided to invite the women to a four-week study of a passage from John describing the resurrection.

Three of the moms joined the study, along with Holly, Laurin, Kyla, and a few other believers to fill out the group. The women were all hungry for the Word and each brought their own Bibles. They loved the format and enjoyed looking at what Scripture says as they learned together. Since Kyla had created an environment where everyone felt comfortable, the women were able to talk freely and asked great questions.

This summer, Holly and Laurin are planning to get together with the women in the Bible study to maintain the connections they’ve made. They are also praying about what God might be calling them to do in the fall as there are always new women coming in to Embrace Grace.
