Christy’s story

Christy’s neighbor, emotionally troubled and going through a rough time, shut down her business during COVID and suffered a seizure that left her unable to drive for six months. The neighbor posted on Facebook that she’d love to meet people for lunch if they were willing to drive. This was Christy’s opening!  She quickly responded… Yes!  When?  And had the neighbor over to her home for lunch.

In the past, this neighbor quickly shut down any discussion of Jesus; but this time, after Christy had prayed, the Holy Spirit prepared the way and Christy was able to share her Gospel story. Christy talked about a time when she was angry with God and how God responded by surrounding her with people who loved and encouraged her.  They talked about how bad things do happen to good people, but God never leaves us.  Christy’s neighbor told her that she couldn’t remember when she’d been able to sit and talk with someone one-on-one like she did that day with Christy!

Anna’s Circle taught Christy how to be intentional about building relationships and watch for opportunities God provides to share her story and faith in Jesus.
